Regina Luminis Academy is a Catholic Classical Curriculum school committed to a faith-based education, a formation that respects and promotes the spiritual, intellectual, physical, social, and emotional  development of each individual child. ​We provide a Catholic learning environment in which Jesus Christ proves the center of our day.  We aim to achieve this through prayer, the study of Sacred Scripture, the study of the Church’s Magisterial documents and the lives of the Saints, through every classroom lesson, and through participation in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program. Integral to our pedagogical approach is training students in Christian virtue and character formation.

 

Early Childhood Development at RLA

 

Children in their early years learn through play. We believe that play is the work of children. Our early childhood environment is intentionally planned to stimulate the development and learning of young children through lesson plans that allow them to be creative and to explore God’s goodness in creation. RLA’s Pre-K and K classroom teacher and the environment she provides will guide students in their exciting journey of discovery.  The teacher will carefully craft lessons that encourage each student’s creativity, and that challenge him or her to reach full potential as a “smart saint.”

We believe that the early years are foundational in a child’s discovery of self as imago Dei. RLA’s Early Childhood Development program aims to help a student know himself or herself as a person created in God’s image and likeness, as one cherished and redeemed by Jesus Christ.  A key focus of our school is to nurture each child’s self-esteem as a child of God and to help each one to strive for moral and intellectual excellence.

We seek for our early childhood program to be a place of joy, in which the children clearly see themselves as sons and daughters of God who are “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:13).

 

We offer the following options:

Pre-K 4 year olds: 5 or 3 half days per week; 3 or 2 full days per week

Kindergarten 5 and 6 year olds: 5 full days or 5 half days per week.
